Dermal Needling at Woman Beauty Nelson

dermal needling nelsonWelcome to the second in our series of blogs covering the advanced facial therapies we offer at our day spa in Nelson. This article covers dermal needling.

What is it?

Dermal needling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT.

This type of advanced facial is a proven, simple, and fast treatment for fine lines, skin rejuvenation and scarring. Due to the epidermal layer remaining intact it is also suited for areas where invasive laser and peel treatments cannot generally be used. For example, around delicate areas, such as eyes and mouth.

How does it work?

Small, very fine, sterile needles are applied to the skin to create micro channels and cause a controlled wound response. Each puncture triggers the skin to heal and fill the channels by producing collagen and elastin. This process is called neovascularization and neocollagenesis. When combined with our recommended growth factors these micro channels also allow the delivery of growth factor directly to the dermis. This restores the skins supply of epidermal and fibroblast growth factor, quite literally, turning back the clock on skin that has been highly damaged or scarred.

Who is dermal needling suitable for?

This treatment is suitable for all skin types, including acne prone and/or scarred skin. In fact, dermal needling is a great choice for acniec skins as it opens up clogged pores, allowing oxygen to kill acne causing bacteria; with the added benefit of softening scars.

Omnilux – What is it? Find it in Nelson.

Omnilux was developed in the U.K. after twelve years of extensive medical research. This advanced facial treatment produces a narrow band of light delivered through LED lights (light emitting diodes). But the great news is you can have this treatment right here in Nelson!

The light technology works because cells within the body contain receptors that absorb light naturally. When these receptors absorb light it kick starts a cellular response. Different wavelengths stimulate different cellular responses. Omnilux has developed ReviveTM (red light) and PlusTM (white light) for very specific wavelengths and depths at which they penetrate in order to achieve their clinically proven results.

Omnilux PlusTM is used in conjunction with Omnilux ReviveTM for periorbital wrinkles, wound healing and psoriasis. Or alone for muscular pain. Both ReviveTM and PlusTM target skin cells within the skin that are responsible for supportive structures including collagen and elastin. It will also help people that have problematic skin types.

Once you become accustomed to the red light of the ReviveTM it can be a warm and pleasant experience.

What does it treat?

Generally these advanced facial treatments will treat fine lines and wrinkles, dehydrated skin, uneven skin tone, it also helps improve skin texture and to fade pigmentation. It can be used on its own or can compliment some of our other facials in order to achieve the best result for you.

The ReviveTM (or the red light) acts to energise, rejuvenate and repair damaged skin and uneven skin tone and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It delivers a precise wavelength of visible red light that penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate fibroblast activity to naturally boost the production of collagen (the protein responsible for plump, healthy skin).

The PlusTM (or the white light) in combination with Omnilux ReviveTM stimulates the deeper skin tissue, leading to a softening of fine lines, improved skin tone and super smooth skin.

Cancellation Policy

We reserve the right to request full payment when you book your treatment. If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment please make a courtesy call at least 24 hours in advance and we will refund any prepaid charges. Please note that we are unable to provide refunds if you fail to arrive at your appointment (no call, no show) and in these circumstances, any gift vouchers will be deemed void; furthermore we will require full payment for your missed appointment before any future bookings can be made. Cancellations on the day of the appointment will incur a 50% fee. Please be aware that arriving late will result in your treatment time being affected as we run on a strict schedule
