So, you’ve invested in your mani and left our Nelson Day Spa looking fabulous and feeling great… Everybody does 😉! We want to help you keep that feel-good factor. So, in this week’s blog article, we’re sharing a few tips on how to make a manicure last longer. Read on for all the details.
How to make a manicure last longer – Four simple tips to help:
Avoid the dishes:
If you think you can convince your partner or flatmates to do the dishes for the next two weeks, excellent, all kudos to you! But we get it if you can’t; just invest in some rubber gloves for when it’s your turn to do the household chores.
Reach for the right tools:
Whether you’re trying to open a package or remove a sticky label, it’s generally easy to find a tool that will help you complete your task. But if you choose to use your nails, it’s a surefire way of saying bye-bye to your beautiful polish.
Choose hand wash over hand sanitiser:
We know you’re all trying to be careful in COVID times, and we commend you for that. But, if you can choose between washing your hands with soap and water and applying a hand sanitising gel, always try to opt for the first! It’s much kinder to your mani.
Invest in Shellac:
Choose regular polish, and you can expect your manicure to last around a week. But for an extra $25, you can add shellac polish to any of our treatments. There is a common misconception that shellac is the same as gel nail polish; it’s not. Shellac is a mix of gel (for added durability) and regular nail polish. Shellac doesn’t look as thick or feel as hard as gel polish. With the correct aftercare, you can expect your shellac manicure to last around fourteen days. We think you’ll agree that it’s well worth an extra $25!
