Lash Lift – FAQs:

How do lash-lifts actually work?

A lash lift is a process where the lashes adhere to a silicone pad. They are carefully laid flat along the curved edge of a silicone pad and stuck in place. This allows for the lashes to be manipulated, flattering the lash length and eye shape. A perming solution is then applied to the lash and allowed to develop. This sets the hair with a beautiful upward curl in the position it has been placed. Once allowed to develop for the recommended time, we then tint the lashes to see the curl’s full effect. No need for mascara!

Can you customise my lash-lift look?

Absolutely! We select the curl’s size based on your lash length, preference, and our own expertise. This means it can be a very subtle, natural look. Or a dramatic difference, particularly if the client’s lashes are naturally very straight.

Does a lash-lift offer immediate results, and how long do these last?

The results are visible immediately after your treatment at our Nelson spa. Results will last for 6-8 weeks.

Is there anything that needs to be avoided immediately after a lash lift?

You cannot get your lashes wet for 48hours post-treatment, the same as any other perm. Following this rule allows the perm to set fully.

How can I enhance the results from this treatment at home?

To get more longevity from the treatment, we highly recommend using a lash growth serum like Revitalash. These work by extending the growth (anagen) phase of your hair growth cycle and allowing your lashes to grow much longer than usual before they do their natural shedding. By prolonging this growth phase, lash turn over is slower, so your lift will be in full effect longer, and when your longer lashes are given the amazing curl a lift provides, you will have the look of extensions without the upkeep!

What are the benefits of a lash-lift over eyelash extensions?

While lash extensions do look beautiful when first applied, they quickly need an infill to keep the desired effect after a week of wear and tear. This can be both time-consuming and budget draining. Many clients also find it stunts their natural lash growth over time and continual applications of extensions. Lash lifts, on the other hand, enhance what you already have by giving curl to your natural lashes, this both provides a much more natural look with the bonus of being far more durable. Lash extensions require you to avoid oil-based cleansers, side and tummy sleeping, rubbing of the eyes, delicate removal of makeup and so on. Apart from the first 48hours where you can not get the lashes wet post lash lift, there is nothing you have to avoid to keep the lashes looking great. It is just business as usual, how amazing is that?!
